Clinical Observation of Spleen-Nourishing and Disinhibiting Therapy plus Herbal Enema for Ulcerative Colitis

To observe the clinical efficacy of spleen-nourishing and disinhibiting therapy plus herbal enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, 60 cases were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which 30 cases were treated by above method and control group in which another 30 cases were treated by SASP and enema of “Xilei Powder”. After two-week treatment, the clinical symptoms and signs were improved better in treatment group than in control group; three-week treatment later, the total effective rate was 83.3% in treatment group and 46.7% in control group, P0.01; after 1-year survey, the marked effective rate was 66.7% in treatment group and 26.7% in control group, P0.01.
