Abstract

To observe the clinical effects of herbal oral administration and enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, 112 cases were randomized into two groups. Observation group with 60 cases was treated with herbal oral administration and enema and control group with 52 cases was treated with SASP, Metronidazole and enema of “Xilei Powder”, with a course of 6 months. Results: The marked effective rate and total effective rate were 76.67% and 93.34% in observation group, and they were 28.85% and 69.23% in control group, with a striking difference in the two rates between two groups(P 0 .01), indicating that the observation group had better effects than the control group.
