The effectiveness of montelukast on serum IL-17 in children with bronchial asthma

Abstract

ObjectiveTo study the effectiveness of montelukast on serum interleukin-17(IL-17) in children with bronchial asthma.Methods90 children with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into two groups,the control group(n=40 cases) and the observation group(n=50 cases).The children in the control group were treated through the conventional treatment,while the children in the observation group were treated through the conventional treatment plus montelukast.They were treated for three months.Serum IL-17 were detected before and after treatment.ResultsThe total efficicies were 96% in the observation group and 87.5% in the control group.There was a significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Serum IL-17 were decreased in both groups after treatment. There was a significant difference between two groups(P0.05).ConclusionMontelukast can improve children with bronchial asthma through decreasing IL-17.
