Abstract

Objective To observe the acute toxicity of the carbendazim-sulfur complex SC and provide evidence for assessment of toxicological security of SC. Methods Based on GB15670-1995, acute toxicity tests by oral LD50 skin and inhalation, acute irritation toxicity test by skin and eye, and skin sensitization test. Results The oral LD50 for the SD female mice of the 40% carbendazim-sulfur complex SC was 4 300mg/kg.BW, LD50 was 2 710mg/kg.BW for the male mice, belong to low-toxicity. The degree of the acute dermal toxicity and the oral LC50 for mice of the SC was low. The degree of dermal irritation of the SC to rabbits was also low; the degree of eye irritation of the SC to rabbits was non-irritative. It was low sensitinogen in skin test. Conclusion The toxicity of 40% carbendazim-sulfur complex SC is low,,the irritation to skin and eyes of rabbits is mild, thus it is a mild sensitinogen.
