Abstract

Under the circumstances of damagedmindset for more than one century in modern Chinese history and the acceptance of western cultural view of progress,Chinese have gradually developed a superficial cultural view that emphasizes short- term gains opposite to the traditional values. In the contemporary reality of simple dichotomy, traditional Chinese paintings incurred some doubts and negativity. The traditional Chinese paintings have seemed to be neglected as our unique cultural product and even to be denied and transformed, regardless of the different cultural features starting from a series of revolutions related to paintings and arts proposed by KANG You- wei,CHEN Du- xiu and other modern ink movement. The purpose conveyed by this paper lies that an art that is abandoning or is deprived of its unique cultural matrix will ultimately be depleted of its life resources.
