Abstract

Objective To estimate diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasonography for small breast cancer. Methods 36 cases of small breast carcinoma with less than 2 cm size and 19 cases of small benign tumors of breast, confirmed by pathology, were analyzed retrospectively for manifestation or characteristic in color Doppler ultrasonography image. Results Significant difference was observed in detectable rate of abundant blood flow and resistance index between small malignancies and benign tumors of breast( P 0.05 for both). No significant increase was found for peak flow velocities of small breast carcinoma ( P 0.05), compared with the benign ones. Conclusion Abundant degrees of blood flow and resistance index are important in differential diagnosis for small breast carcinoma, by which accuracy of diagnosis elevate for the malignancies. [
