Effects of Huatanpingchuan decoction on cerebral hemorrhage.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Huatanpingchuan decoction on cerebral hemorrhage.Methods:A total of 42 cases with cerebral hemorrhage were randomly divided into two groups by half.Patients in control group were treated by conventional treatment including bedding,decreasing intracranial pressure with dehydration,administrating anthemorrhagic drugs for 2-3 days and keeping water-electrolyte balance.While patients in observation group were treated by oral or nasal administration of Huatantongfu decoction on the basis of conventional treatment,with 10-15 days as a course.Result: Six cases were cured,15 cases showed improvements,and 1 cases showed no response,the total efficiency of the observation group was 95.45%;while in the control group 2 cases were cured,11 cases were improved,and 7 cases were ineffective,and the total efficiency was 65.00%.There was significant difference in total efficacy between two groups(P0.05).Conclusions: Huatanpingchuan decoction can help to restore consciousness,remove meridian obstruction,promote purgation to resuscitate and improve central high fever.It also can reduce incidence of complication,and decrease hospitalization expense.
