Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of CD19+CD23+ and CD4+CD25+ in peripheral blood lymphocytes in children with bronchial asthma. Methods A total of 34 children with asthma,32 with remitting asthma, and 25 healthy children were subject to detect the expressions of CD19+CD23+and CD4+CD25+in peripheral blood lymphocytes by flow cytometer and the levels of serum IgE by chemiluminescence immunoassay. Results The expressions of CD19+CD23+in peripheral blood lymphocytes of children with asthma [(19.31±9.08)%] were significantly higher than those of children with remitting asthma [(8.63 ±3.54)% ] and healthy ones. The expressions of CD4+CD25+ in peripheral blood lymphocytes of children with asthma [(2.79±1.69)%] and remitting asthma [(3.36±1.17)%] were lower than those of the healthy ones. The serum IgE of the healthy children were lower than those of the children with asthma [(177.01±90.38)IU/ml] and remitting asthma [(160.76±77.54)IU/ml]. There were statistically significant differences (F=36.62,24.67,24.35,P0.05). There was a positive correlation between the expressions of CD19+CD23+in peripheral blood lymphocytes and serum IgE and a negative correlation between the expressions of CD4+CD25+ and serum IgE. There was also a significantly negative correlation between the expressions of CD19+CD23+ and CD4+CD25+ in peripheral blood lymphocytes. The differences were statistically significant (r= 0.22,-0.41,-0.34,P 0.05). Conclusions The change of the expressions of CD19 +CD23 + and CD4 +CD25 +in peripheral blood lymphocytes in children with bronchial asthma is obvious.
