Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with Respiratory Failure

Objective To explore the methods and application of noninvasive positive pres-sure ventilation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and respiratory failure.Methods January 2005 ～ December 2009 in our hospital with ventilation treatment 43 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with respiratory failure as treated group,compared with no ventilation treatment 43 patients as control group.Both groups were given conventional therapy,the treatment group was treated on the basis of nasal(facial) mask BiPAP ventilation noninvasive ventilation.Results The patients before and after treatment PaO2,PaCO2 difference was significant(P 0.05).Conclusion Nonin-vasive positive pressure ventilation is an effective method treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with respiratory failure.
