Abstract

Objective To observe the performances of serum levels of total bile acid(TBA),cholinesterase(CHE)and prealbumin(PA)in each group of liver disorder, and to know their clinical values. Methods The serum levels of TBA,CHE,and PA were determined in 263 patients with liver disorder, which were divided into 4 groups(acute hepatitis group, chronic persistent hepatitis group, chronic active hepatitis group, and hepatic cirrhosis group),and 50 healthy controls. The determination results of the five groups were statistically analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences in the serum levels of TBA,CHE,and PA between the control group and each liver disorder group. The change range of serum TBA,CHE,and PA levels in chronic persistent hepatitis group was the smallest. The serum level of TBA was significantly increased, but serum CHE and PA levels were significantly decreased in the other three groups of liver disorder, especially in hepatic cirrhosis group. Conclusions It is of great clinical value to jointly detect serum TBA,CHE and PA in diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, disease development, and prognosis judgment of liver disorder.
