Abstract
Objective To evaluate the economic effects of two preparations of amlodipine besylate in treatment of patients with primary hypertension. Methods 240 patients with primary hypertension were randomize into Group A (120 cases) and Group B (120 cases),to be treated for 12 weeks respectively with two kinds of amlodipine besylate tablets.A cost-effectiveness analysis of pharmaeconomics was then conducted. Results The effective rates of Group A and Group B were 72.5% and 75.8%,respectively (P0.05),the incidence rate were 5.8% and 4.2% (P0.05),medication costs were 118.8 yuan and 507.6 yuan, respectively (P0.05).The cost-effectiveness ratios were 1.639 and 6.697,respectively (P0.05).Conclusions Amlodipine besylate tablets made by Suzhou Dawnrays Pharmaceutical (Holdings) Limited are more economical in treatment of patients with primary hypertension, but there exists no significant difference in effect between these two tablets.
