Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of survivin gene in the development of laryngeal carcinoma. Methods: Survivin mRNA ,protein and apoptosis in laryngeal carcinoma tissue cells of forty-two patients were detected by RT-PCR and FCM. Results: Survivin mRNA and protein were both highly expressed in laryngeal carcinoma tissue cells especially in Ⅲ and Ⅳ phases. The apoptosis rate decreased in the survivin expression group and there was a negative correlation between survivin protein(FI) and laryngeal carcinoma cell apoptosis rate. Conclusion: Survivin gene may take part in the genesis and the growth of laryngeal carcinoma through inhibiting cell apoptosis, what is more, it indicates more invasive laryngeal carcinoma and poor prognosis.
