Abstract
【Objective】To investigate the fasting serum resistin levels in metabolic syndrome patients with type 2 diabetes, and to study the relationship between resistin and the components of metabolic syndrome and the numbers. 【Methods】 73 hospital patients diagnosed T2DM were selected randomly and divided into two groups by with or without metabolic syndrome, MS group (42 cases) and T2DM group (31 cases). There were 25 cases in normal control from physical examination. The fasting serum resistin was measured with Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay in all cases. 【Results】The resistin concentration of the MS group was significantly higher than that of the T2DM (P 0.05) and NC (P 0.01) groups. Positive correlations were indicated between resistin and other items, such as FBG, Fins, Homa-IR in the diabetic patients (P 0.05). 【Conclusion】The resistin levels in metabolic syndrome subjects with T2DM were highly increased, and related to insulin resistance.
