Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical features of gatifloxdcin and levofloxacin in the reatment of multi-drug resistant pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods A total of 77 patients with MDR-TB were assigned to the experimental group(n=32),treated with gatifloxdcin and the control group(n=45),treated with levofloxacin, while on the same chemical therapy strategy. After the full-course of treatment, the follow-up time was 2 years. Results After the treatment course,no significant difference was found in the sputum negative transformation rate(86.7% vs 83.1%),radiographic improvement rate(90.0% vs 88.1%) between the two groups(P0.05) and no severe side-effects was found. However, the closure rate of lung cavities in the experimental group(87.5%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(58.3%)(P0.01).After 2 years,in the experimental group, the sputum positive rate, recurrence rate of focus of PTB and deteriorate rate of lung cavities was 11.4%,17.9% and 16.7% respectively, while in the control group those indexes did not changed(P0.01).Conclusion The clinical strategy of gatifloxdcin was effective and safe in the treatment of MDR-TB.
