Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of the combined traditional chinese medicine and western medicine therapy(TCM-WM therapy)on the pulmonary ventilation function of the patients with COPD and its clinical efficacy. Methods Sixty-four patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. Both the groups were given conventional symptomatic treatment of western medicine, and TCM syndrome type medication was added to the treatment group. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.75%,and 75.00% for the control group, suggesting that the former was superior to the latter(P0.05);After treatment, the FVC of both groups was obviously increased and both FEVl and FEV1% were significantly increased, but the increase was more in the treatment group than that in the control group.(P0.05);The treatment group showed obvious effects in defervescence, relief of cough, expectoration and wheezing, and lung wet rale reduction or disappearance time compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The combination of TCM-WM therapy for COPD has a significant effect and no significant side effects, worthy to be popularized and applied.
