Abstract

Based on Systemic Functional Grammar,this paper mainly analyses and concludes the qualities of Theme and Rheme and Thematic Progression of Acknowledgements which,as an important part-genre of Academic Text,has not given enough attention in academic circle.Our final aim is to demonstrate that theme and thematic progression are closely linked with the communicative purposes of the speaker or author and the functional linguistic viewpoint that form is the reflection of meaning.
