Energy consumption and economic development in China

Abstract
In this presentation, a comparison of energy consumption data, inclusive of the ratio of supply to demand and pattern of consumption etc., is made between China and other countries. On the basis of the analysis, some problems in energy consumption in China are found, such as relatively low energy-utilization efficiency, unreasonable pattern of energy consumption, and imparity between demand and supply. By analyzing the relationship between economic development and energy consumption, it is concluded that sustainable industrial development is the best choice. In addition, some suggestions on corresponding policies were offered.
