Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria isolated from diabetics patients with urinary tract infection. METHODS: Clinical data of 366 diabetes patients in 2011 were analyzed retrospectively. Urine samples of patients were cultured, isolated and identified. And the susceptibility test was performed by K-B method. RESULTS CONCLUSION: Among the 366 cases of diabetes patients, 124 suffered from urinary tract infections with infection rate of 33.9%. 102 strains were detected with detection rate of 82.3%, among which 69 were Gram-negative bacteria (67.6%), 21 were Gram-positive bacteria (20.6%) and 12 were Candida (11.8%); 60 were Escherichia coli, accounting for the biggest proportion (58.8%). 20 ESBLs strains were detected (30.3%,20/66); 6 MRSA strains to were produced among 9 Staphylococcus aureus (66.7%,6/9). Drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria to antibiotics is serious, which should be paid attention in clinic.
