Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effects and adverse reactions of oxaliplatin(OXA) in combination with leucovorin (CF)and 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu) regimen for patients with advanced gastric cancer. Methods OXA 130mg/m 2 iv 3h d1,CF 200 mg iv 2h followed by 5-Fu 500mg iv plus 5-Fu 2.4 g/m 2 continuous infusion 46 hours, repeated every 3 weeks. Tumor assessment was done after 3 cycles and the effective cases were confirmed after 4 weeks. Results Among 46 patients with advanced gastric cancer, 3 patients reached complete response(CR), 20 partial response (PR).The overall response rate (CR+PR) was 50%. The median progression free survival was 5.7 months. The median survival of all patients was 10.5 months. The major adverse effect was mild neuro-sensory toxicity, nausea/vomiting and myelosuppression. Conclusion Oxaliplatin in Combination with leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil shows good efficacy in treatment advanced gastric cancer. The toxicity is mild and tolerate.
