Abstract

Objective To explore the impact of specimen hemolysis on the partial results of blood biochemical examination and its corresponding measures. Methods Blood specimens of 50 individuals conducted physical examination in Tumor Hospital of Hunan Province were detected before and after the hemolysis by BACKMAN DxC800 fully automatic biochemistry analyzer. The values of serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspertate aminotransferase(AST),total bilirubin(TBIL),urea nitrogen(BUN),K+,Na+,and Cl-were determined, respectively. And the data were compared and statistically analyzed. Results The values of ALT,AST,TBIL,and K+ after the hemolysis were higher than those before the hemolysis, and the difference was statistically significant. No statistically significant difference was found in the values of BUN,Na+, and Cl-before and after the hemolysis. Conclusions The results indicate that the values of ALT,AST,TBIL,and K+ are significantly interfered and influenced by the hemolysis, and hence,it is necessary to pay attention to specimen hemolysis while performing detection and analysis.Medical professionals should attach importance to each step during the course of collecting and detecting specimens in order to guarantee the accuracy and reality of the determination reports and provide the patients with high quality medical services.
