Expression of VEGF in Squamous Carcinoma of Cervix in Association with Differentiation Grade

Objective To investigate the correlation between the expression of VEGF and pathological grade of squamous cell carcinoma of cervix.Methods The expression of VEGF in sixty patients with squamous cell carcinoma of cervix were examined by SP immunohistochemical staining.Results VEGF was expressed in 36 specimens(60%),the positive percentage of VEGF expression was 85.7% in poor differentiation specimens,37.5%in high differentiation specimens.The lower the squamous cell of cervix differentiated,the more VEGF was expressed.There was an close correlation between the expression of VEGF and pathological grade of squamous carcinoma of cervix.Conclusion VEGF is an useful marker in ascentaining early squamous carcinoma of cervix,and VEGF is of some clinical significance in defining the histopathologic grade and of squamous carcinoma of cervix.
