Tension-free transobturator vaginal tape inside-out procedure for female stress urinary incontinence

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of tension-free vaginal tape-inside-out obturator system(TVT-O) in treating femala stress urinary incontinence(SUI).Methods Nineteen cases of female urinary stress incontinence underwent TVT-O procedure were retrospectively reviewed.The age was 36 to 82(58.3±12.2) years old.The mean disease course was (8.6±5.5) years.Results The mean operation time was (15±3) min,the maximum blood loss less than 30 ml without injury of urinary bladder and vagina.Sixteen patients obtained a satisfactory continence after removal of catheters,3 patients remained slight incontinence that relieved without treatment one week later,2 patients felt pain on the thigh.The mean hospital stay was 2.5 d.All patients were followed up from 3 to 19 months,and no incontinence recurred.Conclusion TVT-O is an effective treatment for female urinary stress incontinence with advantages of simple operation,minimal invasion,and few complication.
