Comparative study of benazepril and captopril's antihypertensive effect

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of benazepril and captopril in treating mild to moderate essential hypertension patients.Methods Randomly divided 120 essential hypertension patients into benazepril and captopril groups,each group was added with a small dose of hydrochlorothiazide for 8 weeks,before treatment and after 8 weeks monitor blood pressure,assess the antihypertensive effect of each group.Results The antihypertensive effect of benazepril was significantly higher than captopril group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Benazepril for mild to moderate essential hypertension have a better antihypertensive effect,combined with low-dose diuretics may improve the outcome.
