Abstract
Aim To study the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Shangtong tiemo. Methods Anti-inflammation effect of Shangtong tiemo was evaluated with the model of swelling in rat paw induced by carrageenin and granuloma in mice induced by agar.By using the pain model in rat induced by electricity irritation and radiation heat, the analgesic effect of Shangtong tiemo was investigated. Results Shangtong tiemo effectively reduced the degree of the swelling in rat paw and granuloma, which indicated its anti-inflammatory effect. It significantly inhibited the pain in rat induced by electricity irritation and radiation heat, which indicated its analgesic effect. Conclusion Shangtong tiemo has the obvious anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.
