Abstract
The synthesis of Di n octyl adipate was performed by esterification of adipic acid and n octanol in catalysis of p toluenesulfonic acid loaded on active carbon under microwave irradiation. The optimal reaction conditions were as folows;the used adipic acid was 1 mmol and the used n octanol was 4 mmol;the concentration of p toluenesulphonic acid solution was 25% ( w /%);the weights of catalyst, microwave power, and microwave irradiation time were 0.8 g,600 W,and 45 s respectively. The conversion ratio of adipic acid in the reaction was up to 99.3%,the catalyst could be easily separated from reaction, and used repeatedly.
