Abstract
Dibutyl adipate was synthesized with adipic acid and nbutyl alcohol, catalyzed by nanopowder CeO2 and accelerated with microwave irradiation. The effects of microwave irradiation power, reaction time, mole ratio of n-butyl alcohol to adipic acid, and the amounts of catalyst on esterification reaction conversion were discussed.Experimental results showed that the esterification yield was more than 98% under the optimal preparation conditions: the mole ratio of n-butyl alcohol to adipic acid is 3.0 ∶1(for 0.05mol of adipic acid),the quantity of catalyst is 2.5% of the mass of the total reactants, and the microwave irradiation time is 10 min with power of 465 W.
