Curative Effects of Ulinastatin on Acute Paraquat Poisoning

Objective To evaluate the value of Ulinastatin in the treatment of acute paraquat poisoning.Methods Fifty three patients with acute paraquat poisoning who were admitted to our hospital from September 2010 to February 2012 were divided into the conventional therapy group and Ulinastatin group.The Ulinastatin group accepted Ulinastatin injection on the basis of conventional therapy.The difference in the pulmonary fibrosis,multiple organ dysfunction syndromes(MODS) and mortality between the conventional therapy group and Ulinastatin group were comnpared.Results The cases of the pulmonary fibrosis and MODS in the Ulinastatin group were less than that in the conventional therapy group,and the difference was statistically significance(P0.05).The fatality rate in the Ulinastatin group was lower than the conventional treatment group and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Ulinastatin combined with conventional therapy can improve organ function,and reduce the incidence of pulmonary fibrosis and MODS and mortality in the treatment of acute paraquat poisoning,which is one of the effective treatment of acute paraquat poisoning in clinical.
