Preventive effect of Hericium Erinaceus on chronicatrophic gastritis in rats

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the preventive effect and mechanisms of Hericium Erinaceus on chronicatrophic gastritis in rats.METHODS A chronic atrophic gastritis model was established with synthetic method.The rats in experimental groups were received,intragastrically,with different dosages of Hericium Erinaceus(12.0,6.0,3.0 g·kg-1) for 6 weeks to observe the preventive effect of Hericium Erinaceus.The pathological changes of the gastric mucous membrane in all of rats were observed,SOD activities and MDA levels were detected in gastric tissues and blood serum.RESULTS After administrating Hericium Erinaceus once a day,the mucosal inflammation index was significantly reduced(P0.05).Hericium Erinaceus increased SOD activities(P0.05)and decreased MDA levels(P0.05)in gastric tissues and blood serum.CONCLUSION Hericium Erinaceus has a preventive role in experimental chronic atrophic gastritis by antioxygen and cell protection.
