Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and life quality between breast-conserving surgery and modified radical mastectomy for early breast cancer. Methods 100 cases of breast cancer patients were divided into 2 groups. The breastconserving surgery group had 58 cases, the modified radical mastectomy group had 42 cases. Surgical item, complications, and life quality after operation of the 2 groups were compared. Results The breast-conserving surgery group had advantages of shorter surgery time, less blood loss, shorter hospital stay and improved cosmetic results, there had statistical difference compared with modified radical mastectomy group( P 0. 05). But the comparison of complications between the 2 groups had no statistical difference( P 0. 05). 1 year after surgery,SCL-90 total score, total symptom index, positive items, positive symptoms in the breast-conserving surgery group were lower than those of the modified radical mastectomy group. The difference had statistical significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion Compared to modified radical mastectomy,breast-conserving surgery has less surgical trauma, better cosmetic results and better life quality.
