Abstract
Objective To evaluate the eradication rate of ten days sequential therapy consisted of omeperazole, clarithromycin, amoxicillin and furazolidone on Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection. Methods Eighty-five patients with Hp positive pepticulcer and chronic gastritis were randomly divided into two groups. Forty-three patients were treated with omeperazole, clarithromycin at first five days , omeperazole, amoxicillin and furazolidone at the second five days. The control group(42 patients) were treated with omeperazole, clarithromycin and amoxicillin for seven days. Results The eradication rate of ten days sequential therapy was 90.7% and that of control group was 71.4%.The differences between two groups were significant(P0.05). Conclusions Ten days sequential therapy is more effective, well tolerated and with higher rate of eradication.
