A Comparison of 10 Days Sequential and 7 Days Traditional Therapy for Eradication of Helicobacter Pylori

Abstract

Objective:To compare 10 days sequential(including pantoprazole、amoxillin、clarithromycin and furazolidone)and 7 days traditional(including pantoprazole、amoxillin and clarithromycin)therapy for eradication of helicobacter pylori.Method: 55 patients with Hp positive peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis were randomly divided into two groups.28 patients were treated with pantoprazole,amoxillin at first five days,pantoprazole 、clarithromycin and furazolidone at the second five days.The control group(27 patients)were treated with pantoprazole、amoxillin and clarithromycin for seven days.Result: The eradication rate of ten days sequential therapy was 92.9% and that of control group was 70.4%.The differences between two groups were significant(P0.05).Conclusion: Ten days sequential therapy is more effective,well-tolerated and with higher rate of eradication.
