A comparative study of citalopram angumentation with olanzapine in depression with somatic symptoms

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of citalopram combined with olanzapine in the treatment of depression with somatic symptoms.Methods A total of 67 patients were randomly divided into citalopram group and citalopram combined with olanzapine group.All patients were evaluated with Hamilton Depression rating Scale for Depression(HAMD),Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) and a self-designed questionnaire.Results The decreased scores of HAMD in combined group were significantly higher than those in the monoherapy group (P0.01).Side effects in two groups were few.Conclusion A combination of citalopram and olanzepine has obvious effects in the treatment of depression with somatic symptoms.
