Abstract
n-Butyl benzoate was synthesized from benzoic acid and n-butyl alcohol using Ti (SO4)2/SiO2 as catalyst. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and best conditions were found out. The optimum conditions are:molar ratio of alcohol to acid was 3:1,the amount of catalyst was 2.5 g/0.05 mol benzoic acid, the reaction time was 2 h.Ti(SO4)2/SiO2 was a good catalyst for synthesizing n-butyl benzoate and its yield can reach up to 96.1%.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
