Protective effects of the Gankang granules on acute alcohol-induced liver injury in mice

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the protective effects of the Gankang granules on alcohol-induced liver injury in mice.METHODSThe Dongbaogantai and 5.85,11.70,23.40g/kg of Gankang granules were performed by intragastric administration in different groups for five days,respectively,and in addition to the normal group,the remaining groups were given by oral administration of ethanol 500mL/L to replicate acute alcohol-induced liver injury model.After absolute diet and no water fasting for 12 hours,the alanine aminotransferase(ALT) in serum,and malondialdehyde(MDA) and reduced glutathione hormone(GSH) content in liver tissue were detected.RESULTSThe liver index and MDA content in liver tissue of mice were obviously decreased in the large and medium dose groups of the Gankang granules,and the content of GSH in liver tissue was increased,but activity of ALT in serum was no changed in the large,medium,and small dose groups of the Gankang granules.CONCLUSIONThe Gankang granules have some protective effects for acute alcoholic liver injury in mice.
