Abstract

Sodiam bisulfate can be used as catalyst for the esterification instead of sulphuric acid.Dibutyl adipate was synthesis from adipic acid and n butyl alcohol in the presence of sodium bisulfate monohydrate. The yield of the ester could reach 93.8% under amoant of substance ratio of adipic acid,n butyl alcohol and sodium bisulfate were 1∶6∶0.14,refluxing and water segrating for 100 min.The reusabity of the catalyst was studied.
