Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effects of inhalation of recombinant human interferon(IFN) α-1b and the characteristics of nursing care in children with severe hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD). Methods A total of 96 children with severe HFMD were randomized into a treatment group and a control group. Both the groups were given Xiyanping and ribavirin injection, fever-reducing drugs and other symptomatic and supportive treatment, and the treatment group was given 30 μg of inhaled recombinant human IFN α-1b additionally. The duration of the main signs and symptoms was compared between the two groups. Results The time of fever clearance, rash subsidence and improvement of neurological symptoms in the treatment group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P0.05). Conclusions Inhalation of recombinant human IFN α-1b makes signs and symptoms resolve in a shorter time, achieving a significant therapeutic effect on children with severe HFMD. Effective implementation of nursing care measures is a guarantee for achieving good therapeutic effect.
