Abstract
Objective To understand the resistant status of extended-spectrum-beta-lactamases(ESBLs) producing strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae to antibiotics. Methods The susceptibility of 650 strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae producing ESBLs to antibiotics was determined by using VITEK system. Results Out of the 650 strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae 176 strains produced ESBLs with a ESBLs-producing rate of 27.1%. The resistant rate of ESBLs-producing strains to ampicillin, cefoxitin, cefotaxine, ceftazidine was between 93.1%~100%.Various degrees of resistance of ESBLs-producing strains to aminoglycosides, quinolones and sulfonamides(26.9%~93.1%) was observed, while the resistance of ESBLs-producing strains imipenem was lowest.
