Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of bispectral index( BIS) on elderly patients with general anesthesia. Methods From Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2011,80 cases of elderly patients with general anesthesia admitted by Hanchuan People's Hospital were divided into observation group and control group. BIS was maintained at 40-60 for observation group, while MAP( mean artery pressure) maintained at 70-100 mm Hg for control group during the general anesthesia. The value of HR,BIS and MAP at T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,and drug dosage, drawing tube time and recovery room observation time were recorded and compared. Results Compared with the control group, observation group's drug dosage was significantly reduced( P 0. 05),MAP and BIS value increased, drawing tube time and recovery room observation time were significantly shorter( P 0. 05).Conclusion BIS monitoring can reduce the anesthetics dosage, accurately evaluate the depth of anesthesia, and speed up anesthesia recovery of elderly patients in general anesthesia.
