Abstract

To optimize the extraction technique for total saponins from bitter melon by supersonic wave, the single factor tests and response surface method(RSM) were used.On the basis of the previous results and according to the central composite experimental design principles, the response surface method with 4 factors and 3 levels was adopted. The results showed that the optimum conditions were that supersonic wave time of 41 min, supersonic power of 402 W,extracting temperature of 62℃ and the ratio of bitter melon to solvent of 1:23. Under such conditions the extraction rate of total saponins could be up to 3.03% at one-time extraction.
