Abstract
The ideas and methods about relative carrying capacity of resources were introduced in this paper,the relative carrying capacity of land resources,relative carrying capacity of economic resources and synthetic carrying capacity of resources of Chongqing City from 1991 to 2003,have been calculated,their evolutionary have been described.The calculations were drawn:①the synthetic carrying capacity of resources of Chongqing has been the state of overload long-term;②the pressure from the carrying capacity of Chongqing City was much greater than the eastern zone and was a little greater than the western zones;③the relative carrying capacity of economic resources is increasing,but the contribution of land resources to the synthetic carrying capacity is decreasing.
