Clinical Analysis of Mesh-plug Tension-free Hernioplasty for Inguinal Hernia

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty for inguinal hernia by comparising with the traditional hernioplasty.Methods 91 cases of inguinal hernia from January 2002 to January 2007 were analyzed retrospectively,there are 68 males and 23 females.50 cases were treated by mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty and 41 cases were treated by traditional methods,and the rate of postoperative pain,postoperative urine retention,recurrence and complications were explored in the two groups.Results The rate of occurrence of urine retention and scrotal hydrocele,the application rates of analgesic and the recurrence rate of two groups were significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty has the advantages of low recurrence and complications,it is a satisfactory method.
