Application of mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty for recurrent inguinal hernia

Abstract

Objective To summarize the therapeutic efficacy of mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty for recurrent inguinal hernia.Methods All 46 patients with recurrent inguinal hernia treated by mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty were analyzed retrospectively.Results Recurrence was found in 3 cases(6.4%),1 case(2.2%) suffered from incisional infection and 4 cases(8.7%) were complicated with scrotal hydrocele.All cases sensed slight pain or less pain.Conclusion Mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty for recurrent inguinal hernia has the advantages of low recurrence,low scrotal hydrocele,low incisional infection rate,less postoperative pain,simple performance,and good therapeutic effect.It is a suitable hernioplasty for recurrent inguinal hernia.
