Abstract
Objective To study the distribution and drug resistance of coagulase negative Staphylococcus(CNS)in a hospital,so as to provide the reference for the rational use of antimicrobial agents. Methods CNS isolated from inpatients from January,2005 to December,2006 were identified with ATB Expression microbial identification and drug sensitivity system. Results A total of 370 strains of CNS were isolated, most CNS were Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus hemolyticus, the drug-resistant rate to penicillin, erythromycin and oxacillin was 92.98%,92.70% and 84.05% respectively,drug-resistant rates to clindamycin and second generation quinolones were both 70%,drug-resistant rates to fusidate, minocycline and teicoplanin were all low.The susceptible rate of CNS to vancomycin was 100%.Conclusion CNS is playing a significant role in nosocomial infection. The drug resistance of CNS is very serious,it is important to monitor the antimicriobial resistance of CNS.Clinical doctors should use antimicrobial agents rationally and slow down the producing of drug resistance.
