Abstract

Objective To study relations of serum bilirubin level, coronary heart disease(CHD) and lipid level. Methods Serum bilirubin(TBIL),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(CHO),high density lipoproteins cholesterol(HDL-C) and of CHD group(100 samples) and low density lipoproteins cholesterol(LDL-C) control group(60 samples) were mensurated. It used for FRIEDWALD formula (analysis with t method). Results The concentration of total bilirubin in CHD group was lower than that in the control group(P0.05).The concentration of total bilirubin in CHD group shows negative correlativity with concentration of low density lipoproteins cholesterol(LDL-C) and triglycerides (TG).Conclusions Lower serum bilirubin is associated with increased risk for coronary heart disease. Serum bilirubin could prevent lipid from oxygenation, thus avoid the happening of CHD.
