Abstract

Objective:To study the re1ationship between serum bilirubin concentration and coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods:By early morning samples of venous blood ,serum total bilirubin (TBIL) and direct bilirubin (DBIL) were measured in 89 patients with CHD and 100 normal subjects as control group. The levels of serum total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG) and high density lipoprotein(HDL)were also tested. Results:The concentrations of serum bilirubin and HDLwere lower in the CHD group than those in the control group, the difference was significant(p0.05).The concentration of TC and of TG were higher in the CHD group than those of control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Low serum bilirubin concertration mau be one of the risk factors of CHD.
