Abstract

Objective:To study the expressions of CD117 and CD34 of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and their clinical significance. Methods: Twenty-two cases of GIST were investigated with clinicopatholgical observation and immunohistochemical analysis of CD117,CD34. Results: The positive rate of CD117 and CD34 of these cases were 100% and 83.3% respectively in GIST. 54.6% cases of GIST originated in stomach, 36.4% cases in small intestine and 9.1% of cases in other places of digestive tract. Conclusion: Expressions of CD117 and CD34 are the special antibodies for diagnosing GIST, and can be used to diagnose the disease.
