Abstract
Objective:To study the pathological and immunohistochemical characteristics of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST).Methods:48 cases of GIST were analyzed for CD117,CD34,SMA and S-100 express by immunohistochemical SP.Results:Among 48 cases of GIST,89.6% were positive for CD117,83.3% were positive for CD34,31.3% were positive for SMA and 14.6% were positive for S-100.Conclusion:CD117 and CD34 seem to be useful antibodies in the diagnosis of GIST,a high misdiagnosis in GIST can be avoidable by using both CD117 and CD34.
