Abstract
Objective To explore the criteria of pathologic diagnosis for gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST)and the reference parameters for malignancy, and to evaluate the clinical prognosis. Methods The expression levels of CD117,CD34,SMA and S-100 were detected by immunohistochemical method and their morphologic characteristics were analyzed by Light microscopy. Results The immunohistochemical results showed that CD117 were diffusely strongly expressed in all of GIST;CD34 also diffusely strongly in most of GIST;SMA and S-100 incidentally in some focus.Their positive rates were 100%,81%,20% and 16% respectively.5 benign cases,10 potential malignancy cases and 24 malignant cases were finally diagnosed. Conclusion The pathologic diagnosis of GIST should be made based on the immunohistochemical staining results.CD117 was a sensitive and specific marker for diagnosing GIST.The prognosis was closely related to the degree of pathologic malignancy.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
