Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Jiaweijichuanjian in the treatment of yang-deficiency type senile functional constipation(FC).Methods:129 cases of yang-deficiency type senile functional constipation according to the Rome III criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the contrast group. The treatment group was treated by Jiaweijichu anjian. The contrast group was treated by western medicine(Cisapride and Lactulose). Results: The total effective ratio of treatment group and the contrast group was 87.5% and 71.9% respectively(P0.05).The treatment group was better than the contrast group in improving the symptoms of senile functional constipation. The ratio of side-effect of the treatment group was also lower than that of the contrast group. Conclusion: Jiaweijichuanjian has better effect in treating yang-deficiency type senile functional constipation than western medicine only.
