Abstract
From the angle of social functional theory,there was a tendency that the management and control functions on interior affairs had been increasingly strengthened by patriarchal clans of Huizhou during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The patriarchal clans of Huizhou had devoted themselves to control and readjust interior social order.It reflected the role-playing of social autonomy and management of patriarchal clans of Huizhou.There was an effective control on interior social order of patriarchal clans of Huizhou by the way of enlightening,mediating and punishing.The subjective efforts of controlling interior social order made by the patriarchal clans of Huizhou had played an active role in maintaining the prosperity of the society and stability of the social orders during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
